Tŷ Bryn lies within the heart of one of the UK’s most beautiful places, the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and we’re really easy to find.
From Chepstow (South Wales, London and South England)
From the M48 take the Wye Valley Link Road (A466) bypassing Chepstow and you will see the brown tourist/heritage signs for the Wye Valley. Pass Chepstow Racecourse, St. Arvans and Tintern and once you have passed the Llandogo village sign, Tŷ Bryn is the 2nd drive on the left, well marked with our B&B sign.
From Monmouth (Mid & North Wales, Midlands, North and South East England)
At the A40 traffic lights outside Monmouth turn onto the A466, cross the Wye Bridge and at the mini-roundabout (Lidl) turn right. Through Redbrook, over Bigswear Bridge, into Llandogo and to the far end of the village, passing Browns Stores and the Sloop Inn. Soon you will see our B&B sign and lay-by on the right. Except for bikes, this right turn into our driveway is too tight to make in one go. If there is no traffic you can manoeuvre on the road to come up the drive, but otherwise we recommend continuing along the A466 for approx. 2 miles to a lay-by to U-turn and approach from the other direction.
Off-road Parking – please note!
Tŷ Bryn is elevated on a steep hillside above the A466, which is what affords us a beautiful view, but naturally it also means we have a steep drive and the layout does require you to manoeuvre on a slope (including some reversing). In Llandogo many properties have steep drives and little or no off-road parking, so we are glad to be able to provide you with good parking (3 spaces) next to the house. Spaces are demarcated with white lines and signs. We’ve had every type of car/van/motorbike parking here happily over the years, but we do understand the drive might be a worry for some, and in that case please do tell us so we can advise you on alternative parking in the village, and please do not park at the bottom of the drive.
A great location
We are less than 3 miles from Tintern, 5 miles from the Forest of Dean, 8 miles from the market towns of Monmouth and Chepstow, 13 miles from Symonds Yat, and just 20 minutes drive from Ross on Wye. You can reach the Wye Valley Walk from our garden gate, the Offa’s Dyke National Trail can be reached 2 miles upstream, we are surrounded by Forestry Commission tracks and bridleways galore, and the Brecon Beacons National Park is just 22 miles away by car. For city lovers it is just a short hop by car (less than 1hr), bus or train into Bristol or Cardiff, the vibrant Welsh Capital.
